About

Minimize

After many years of gradually picking up steam, the fiber artisans from the eastern half of North Carolina gathered together for the first Fiber Festival which was an offshoot of the NC AgFest in 2009.  The event took place at the State Fairground in Raleigh, NC.  There was an estimated attendance of 25,000.  It was an immediate success.  Many people have requested there be one annually, so 2010 will be the 2nd annual Carolina Fiber Festival, again part of the NC AgFest.  This year the space provided will be double the area of the first year.  We are anticipating some people bringing animals so people can see animals that provide fibers we use.  If there are any questions, they can be directed to Carolyn Beasley, 508 Sedgewood Rd, Four Oaks, NC  27524; PH: 919-934-2427; Email: CarolinaFiberFest@hotmail.com.

For added enjoyment, there will be animals on exhibit.  This will include a variety of sheep breeds, angora rabbits, angora goats, alpacas.  Once we know who will be exhibiting, we will provide a more complete list.

Here are a few of the types of animals that provide fibers that we work with:
